Yalda Talisman Pendant
Shabe Yalda, or Winter Solstice, marks the rebirth of the sun. It begins at sunset on the last day of autumn, the longest night of the year, and is an ancient Persian celebration of light’s triumph over darkness.
I designed this coin pendant to honour the Yalda tradition. It features the pomegranate, one of Iran’s most treasured fruits, eaten on festive occasions as a symbol of life and abundance. The words Shabe Yalda are inscribed on the reverse of the coin in Farsi.
The pendant is strung with faceted rubies and gold spacers, finished with my Moznabi signature clasp. Ruby is a stone of vitality, passion, and life force - linked to the root and heart chakras, it encourages strength, desire, and the courage to manifest new beginnings.
